Preflop action begins after private cards are dealt. The flop reveals three community cards, the turn a fourth and the river a fifth.
A betting round follows each reveal when more than one player can still act. Once betting ends, eligible hands are compared for each pot.
A player who wins uncontested after everyone else folds need not reveal private cards unless a specific table rule says otherwise.
